Roddenberry Vault: TOS Films

In today's installment, we examine some Roddenberry Vault images from the era of the TOS films. Here are some storyboards by Andrew Probert of the Vulcan shuttle from Star Trek: TMP.  I've previously covered this shuttle in detail here.

Here's a costume sketch by Robert Fletcher for Spock in Star Trek: TMP.

Here's a behind the scenes shot of Leonard Nimoy in make-up as he directs Star Trek III: The Search for Spock.

Next we have a series of negatives of publicity stills featuring Jane Wyatt as Amanda and Leonard Nimoy as Spock in Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home.  I was so glad the filmmakers were able to bring back Jane Wyatt to reprise her TOS role.  Having that continuity really did make Vulcan seem like Spock's home.

Finally, here is a series of negatives featuring shots of Leonard Nimoy preparing to film on the Klingon bridge in Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home.

Lot #0204 Neral Concept Art by Robert Blackman for Star Trek: TNG "Unification".  Interesting, the character's name is spelled "Narel" on the artwork.  I wonder if this was an error or the spelling changed during production.

Spock Movie Collages

I recently had some time on my hands and created these collages -- one for each Star Trek film.  They feature some of my favourite images of Leonard Nimoy as Spock.

Dame Judith Anderson as T'Lar

The late, great Dame Judith Anderson was born on this day in 1897.  She passed away in 1992 at the age of 94.  Here are some publicity images of Anderson as T'Lar in Star Trek III: The Search for Spock.

New Propworx Auctions

For the past few weeks, Propworx has quietly returned to eBay selling Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica and Stargate items left over from their bigger auctions.  Yesterday, a few interesting Vulcan-related items were sold.

These are from a series of poster lightboxes that were used in the Star Trek Tour that traveled through Europe for several years.  They take up a lot of space which is probably why they only sold for about $100 each but they're unique items that will make great additions to someone's collection.

Vulcan Fashions from Trevco

Since being granted the Star Trek license a few years ago, Trevco Inc. has created some of the best Star Trek shirts ever.  There are dozens of designs including many that will be of interest to Vulcanologists.  They range from the somewhat "classy"...

... to the totally kitchy...

There are some from the Star Trek films and from all the Star Trek television series.

There are even a few offerings featuring our Romulan cousins.

Though the official website only ships to the USA, and is designed for retail outlets rather than the individual consumer, I have found all of these styles on eBay and most can be found at a Star Trek convention near you!
